Dana Goins

Mrs. Goins was born and raised in Louisville. After graduating from Louisville Male High, she attended Western Kentucky University (WKU), where she earned a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education, specializing in social studies and language arts. The first two years of her career, she taught eighth-grade social studies at Franklin-Simpson Middle School in Simpson County, Kentucky. Once returning to Louisville, Mrs. Goins served as a teacher, team leader, coach, and sponsor of various clubs and activities at Noe Middle School. During this time, Mrs. Goins earned her master’s degree in school counseling at Indiana University Southeast (IUS) and endorsement in gifted education from Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Mrs. Goins began her counseling career at Meyzeek Middle in 2011, serving all grade levels, and is the cosponsor of the Student Council.

At home, Mrs. Goins loves spending time with her husband, Scott, and their children, Luke, Gavin, and Scarlett. Favorite family activities include fishing, playing basketball, and reading as a family every night. In Mrs. Goins' free time, she loves to read, play with her kids, and run.

As a counselor, Mrs. Goins' goal is simple: to be the kind of counselor she would want for her own children.
