Paper Weaving Sculpture

Eighth-grade students created these sculptures by using "straws" of wrapped magazing pages. Not only did they demonstrate weaving skills, but they also learned the importance of recycling to create new art.

Mexican Clay Suns

For our unit in clay, seventh-grade students created a slab-constructed Mexican clay sun. They used proper techniques and terminology and learned about Mexican art and its use of bright, vivid colors.

Tints and Shades

As a part of learning color theory, sixth-grade students demonstrated their understanding of creating tints and shades by adding white or black to a color. To make it more interesting, each student created his or her own unique fish with scales that represented several tints and shades.
