Advance Program

The Advance Program is designed to provide accelerated instruction for academically gifted and talented students. Qualification for the JCPS Advance Program is based on test scores, grade point average (GPA), and teacher evaluations. To graduate with an Advance Diploma, a student must qualify to be in the Advance Program; complete at least 12 courses at the Advance level in the areas of math, science, social studies, English, or world language; and must earn advanced humanities credit. Additionally, at least three credits in the same world language or two credits each in two different world languages are required. Students must also maintain a 3.0 GPA to graduate with an Advance Program Diploma.

Note: Students not in the Advance Program may take Advance Program classes with teacher recommendation and available class space.
