Welcome friends,

It is with great pride and excitement that I am the Principal at H.B. Slaughter Elementary School. Slaughter has an amazing reputation of students, parents, and staff. My number one goal is to make an impact on students socially, emotionally, and academically. I am dedicated to having a positive impact on as many children as possible. I am joined by a community of people who have that same vision and enthusiasm behind that goal! Our primary focus is always to provide a safe, positive, and caring atmosphere for our students. As we celebrate our accomplishments as well as look at ways we can improve, we know our positive culture is always the first step in that journey. As principal, I am fervent about student success. Personally and professionally, I have experienced what happens to children with or without strong academic, social, and emotional foundations. Slaughter provides a pathway for all students and staff through preparation for success. My passion for teaching and learning is a testament that adversity does not define your station in life.

As principal of Slaughter Elementary, I work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to improve and sustain student achievement by implementing collaborative systems of rigorous instruction, data analysis, student engagement, and teacher growth.

The following is my vision for students, staff, and parents:

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at Slaughter. In order to do this, I will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction, access to professional development, and reaching out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students are adequately prepared for transition readiness.

Our superstar students that walk the stars at Slaughter Elementary School each day continue to fuel my passion and dedication to making sure that every one of them is successful!
