Goldsmith Elementary

Goldsmith's Mission: In partnership with the family and community, we celebrate our diverse heritage while promoting the academic and personal success of our students.

The Goldsmith Way: 3R’s + Teamwork

Diversity the Goldsmith way means International/Cultural School. We infuse the cultures from around the world into reading, writing, science, and social studies. We serve students from over 45 countries and who speak over 20 different languages collectively. Learning to respect and value others is an important piece to becoming socially responsible.

CARE for Kids

CARE stands for Creating A Respectful Environment. On all grade levels, the program helps students develop social responsibility and positive relationships with both adults and classmates. CARE for Kids embeds social and emotional learning strategies that can be incorporated throughout the day in all academic classes. Components of CARE set the tone for respectful learning and establish a climate of trust; encourage students and teachers to reflect, solve problems, and make group decisions; build a sense of community; and developmental discipline that focuses on proactive intervention strategies and moving students toward self-control and responsibility.

Ready for Success!

Goldsmith follows the Kentucky Common Core for literacy and math. Kentucky Core Academic Standards guide our other content areas. Science modules are used to emphasize science concepts through hands-on exploration. Reading and Math Interventions provide additional instruction for students who are performing below grade level.

Technology to Support Learning

  • Smart Boards and document cameras in every classroom to support students’ interactive learning opportunities
  • Study Island, software program that supports math and reading standards (Click here for more information.)

Our school is a member of the Community Eligibility program. This means that each student can enjoy one reimbursable breakfast and one reimbursable lunch each day at no cost!

Community Partners

We work to create partners with area businesses and churches to provide additional support to our students. Through our partners who offer free tutoring and social skill development we provide additional support to our families.

Daily use of agendas keep us connected to our parents and guardians of immediate needs. We also offer digital connections through our website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and email. Find us at the following locations on the web:
