It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the newest School Counselor at Johnson Traditional Middle School. My name is Dr. T. Jai Rogers and it is an honor to be able to serve and support the students, faculty, staff, and parents of JTMS while continuing to remove barriers for our future generation of leaders. I received my Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from the University of Louisville and completed my Doctor of Philosophy degree from Bellarmine University. With over 5 years of counseling experience in both the school and private setting, my counseling philosophy is to ensure students have a strong advocate who will help them positively navigate their educational experience beyond the classroom. As a believer in holistic counseling, I am committed to building relationships with students and providing a safe space for students to begin developing their identity without judgement. While maintaining an open-door policy, it is important for me to make sure students feel heard, teachers feel supported, and parents feel represented. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me as I am here to assist the Jaguar families!

I have been a teacher for the past five years at Crosby Middle School, and I love working with middle school students. I received my undergraduate degree in teaching from Bellarmine University in 2013. In 2016, I received my English Language Learners (ELLs)Certification from the University of Louisville (UofL). In 2018, I graduated with my master's in Counseling from Indiana University Southeast (IUS).

Prior to working for JCPS, I worked with high-risk and at-risk youth, where I found my passion for counseling. Student success is extremely important to me, and I strive to make sure students know their value and worth.

It is my pleasure to work with your child and family to help all students reach their full potential.

I have been a counselor for the past 10 years at Johnson Traditional Middle School and love being a jaguar. I received my undergraduate degree in teaching from Spalding University in 1996. In 2001, I received my Masters Degree in Counseling from Spalding University as well. Within the past few years, I also have completed a Rank I in Counseling at Indiana University Southeast. Before coming to JTMS, I taught in a private school for five years and then taught math at Frost Middle School for six years. I love working with middle school students. They are awesome! Counseling is a passion for me and I have learned a lot of things along the way. In 2013, I was honored to receive the Middle School Counselor of the Year Award for Jefferson County Counselors. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two wonderful children. I have a passion for sports, especially softball and play on a competitive women's team. Some other hobbies of mine include camping, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to working with your child this year.
