STLP at Layne
The Student Technology Leadership Program starting in 1999 with 3 students and under the leadership of Sharon Driver Muller. Our first project was a video diary of the growth of a lima bean over time. The Program Received State Gold Status in 2001. The STLP has been an active part of the Layne Elementary school for many years. We have attended many STLP Showcase Events over the years. The STLP has always been active at Layne, even when we did not attend STLP Showcase Events. Over the years, students have learned many technology skills and worked on many projects. Our first project winner was a Public Service Announcement on Computer Piracy. The STLP has grown and changed in many forms over the years. We are constantly growing and changing to keep up with the newest and greatest in technology. In 2005, we won our 1st Showcase Trophy for our video on Computer Piracy. In 2006, 2 students won a Digital Art Award for their picture Best Friends. The STLP is under the leadership of Sharon Muller and Melissa Hamilton. We recently lost our Gold Status because of a filing error. We are going to work to achieve that goal again.
