Dear Greenwood Families,
I am deeply honored and humbled to be the principal of Greenwood Elementary. My experiences from being raised in a close-knit small town has molded me to value family, relationships, community, and compassion toward one another. Greenwood Elementary is the epitome of these characteristics: for this reason, I feel right at home!
As principal of Greenwood Elementary, my vision is for students to be both academically and socially prepared for middle school and beyond. It is my mission to ensure students are provided equitable, differentiated, and high-quality instruction so that students are ready for the next educational level. Through shared leadership and collaboration, Greenwood teachers and staff are committed to working toward the vision and mission to increase student achievement.
Since 1999, I have humbly served as a substitute teacher, teacher, instructional coach, district resource teacher, and assistant principal within Jefferson County Public Schools. Throughout this journey, there is one aspect that remained constant; my commitment to student growth and achievement. I am an advocate for all students, and I want them to reach their fullest potential. It is my duty to ensure that Greenwood Elementary is a place where students feel safe, and furthermore, a place where they feel a sense of belonging. When safety, a sense of belonging, and high expectations for learning are present, students can reach their fullest potential.
In closing, I believe it does "take a village". Family and community partnership plays an important role in student success. I encourage your support, and most of all, your commitment to the students at Greenwood Elementary. Please feel free to contact me at (502) 485-8260. I look forward to an amazing school year!
