Our School

There is a place for your child at Breckinridge-Franklin Elementary!

Breckinridge-Franklin provides a literacy-based education and an extensive math and science curriculum that meets the Kentucky Core Academic Standards. A Small Class Size component allows the instructional staff to meet each individual student’s needs including extending learning for students who excel and remediating for students who may need additional support. A variety of after-school programs are available to engage students in learning outside of the school day.

Breckinridge-Franklin also offers the Advance Program and Gifted and Talented Program which includes in-class and after-school programming aimed at challenging students to ensure they reach their potential!

Campus and Classrooms

The school campus sits on two-acres with a large outdoor activity area. Within our building, we offer two computer labs, an art room, a music room, an extensive media center, and a full-sized gymnasium.

Classrooms are equipped with technology, such as SMART Boards, document cameras, iPads, and computers. A variety of learning strategies and project based learning are utilized to promote rates of proficiency in all academic areas.

Resources and Supports

Family Resource Center (FRC) is provided for students and families. Centerstone school based therapists provide support in social skills and behavior management skills. Reading Recovery Specialist provides extended literacy support. Visually Impaired Classes help students navigate and excel in their educational experience.

Our Communications Magnet Program

Students at Breckinridge-Franklin participate in the Communications Magnet Program, which is implemented through student choice Communication Clubs. Examples of the Communication Clubs are as follows: broadcasting, webpage, Girls Who Code, Leadership, School Publications, Bullfrog Hoppers, and performing arts clubs. A partnership with WHAS 11 allows students insight into media and broadcast communication skills and careers. Students showcase their work throughout the year for parents, grandparents, community members, with a culminating project based learning (PBL) showcase.

Transportation is provided for students in Clusters 8 through 13 who are accepted into the magnet program.
