A Message From the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Thank you for visiting our Web site. Whether you are looking for a school for your child or are already a part of our school family, I want to welcome you. Your choice of a school was probably one of the most important decisions you have made for your child's future. We, the staff at Layne, are excited that we will get the opportunity to teach your child and for you to become a part of our school community.

There will be many exciting things that will happen while your child is in school. They will become fluent readers, skilled mathematicians, budding scientist and curious discoverers as they learn about social studies and our country. Each teacher will work to help them reach their potential and to challenge them to reach even higher. Our counselor will be here to guide them as they become independent and self-sufficient.

As your child's principal, I will always be here to help you and your child with any questions. I invite you to become an active member in your child's experience at Layne. I encourage all parents to join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), to become involved in the activities that happen throughout the year, and to be your child's primary cheerleader and encourager as he or she works to master so many new things. Please read to your child every night, help him or her find a quiet spot to do homework, and help him or her learn how to organize school things so that getting ready in the morning is easier.

I'm glad you're a part of the Layne family or that you will soon join us. Together, we will make sure that all of Layne's students reach their full potential and are ready to handle any of life's challenges.
