Hello! My name is Kim Allen, and I am your child’s school counselor. I am extremely excited to be a member of the Layne Elementary family. I have been a school counselor since the 2013-14 school year. Before becoming a counselor, I was a pre-kindergarten teacher for seven years, and I taught third and fourth grade for eight years. When I am not at Layne, I enjoy spending time with my family and my big furry Newfypoo puppy Winston.

As school counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all students. My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment that enables all students to be successful. It is my job to offer support to the students, staff, and families of Layne Elementary School. I work with students in several ways, and I am available to meet with students individually and in small groups, as well as conducting classroom guidance lessons to build a positive school community.

I am excited to work with you and your child!
